After breaking his own school record in the 5000-meters by seven seconds, Justyn Knight has been named ACC Men's Track Performer of the Week.
Knight raced to a time 13:27.23 at the Payton Jordan Invitational in a loaded field that featured numerous professionals. The Vaughan, Ontario native was the third finisher among collegiate competitors (10th overall), and owns the third-fastest time nationally to date.
He also currently ranks second among those who are eligible to compete at the NCAA East Prelims. It's the sixth career Performer of the Week honor for the sophomore, who was also named Male Athlete of the Year at the 10th annual 'Cuse Awards last evening.
Next up for Knight and the Orange is the ACC Championships, beginning May 13 in Tallahassee, where Knight won an ACC Championship last year.
