Playing days aren't over for Syracuse senior Derek DeJoe.
The Rochester Rattlers signed the Orange midfielder on Monday to continue his playing career in Major League Lacrosse.
DeJoe is the fifth member of Syracuse's class of 2016 to join the next level. Dylan Donahue, Brandon Mullins, Tim Barber and Warren Hill had all previously been drafted in the rookie draft in January.
DeJoe saw action in all-17 games, posting 23 points on 17 goals and six assists this season, much of which on the first midfield line. He scored four goals in the ACC Tournament to help lead Syracuse to its second-straight conference title.
The Fairport, N.Y. native joins a large fraternity of former 'Cuse players currently suiting up for MLL teams. On Rochester alone, he'll play with John Galloway, John Lade and Joel White. The Orange has 19 alums who have suited up in a professional game through the first-eight weeks of the year.
