Preseason Honors for Estime, Murphy

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior wide receiver/return specialist Brisly Estime and junior placekicker Cole Murphy have been named to the 2016 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference Football Team. Estime received second-team honors as a return man, while Murphy was selected to the third team.

This year's preseason all-conference teams were included in the magazine's annual ACC preview, which is available in stores and at newsstands now.

In addition to the recognition for Estime and Murphy, Orange quarterback Eric Dungey is featured on the cover of the regional conference preview issue.

A 2015 All-ACC Third Team selection, Estime finished second nationally last season in punt return average (18.1 ypr) and tied for second in the country with two punt returns for touchdowns. He totaled 937 combined kick return yards (665 kickoff, 272 punt) in 2015, the 11th-best total in the FBS. As a receiver, Estime caught 17 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns, and led the Orange in yards per reception (17.2).

Murphy was Syracuse's top scorer with 85 points a year ago. He connected on 16-of-22 (.727) field goals and made all 37 of his extra-point tries. Murphy enters the 2016 campaign third all-time at Syracuse with a career field-goal percentage of .763 (29-38). His 29 made field goals ranks ninth in school history.

Syracuse kicks off the 2016 campaign against Colgate on Friday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. First-year head coach Dino Babers inherits an Orange squad that returns 19 starters, including the leaders in nearly every statistical category from last season.

Season tickets for Syracuse football are on sale now online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Tickets start at $99 ($16.50 per game) with lower-level seats in the end zones available for as little as $125.

Single-game tickets for all home games except Florida State go on sale June 21. Tickets to watch the Orange and Seminoles are tentatively scheduled to go on sale July 26. Tickets start at $20 for non-conference games, $25 for the Louisville and NC State games, and $30 for the Virginia Tech and Florida State contests.
