Multi-year agreement includes the return of 'Big Game Buttons'
CICERO, N.Y. – The "Big Game Buttons" are back!
As part of a multi-year agreement between Syracuse Athletics and Driver's Village announced Thursday, Aug. 11, Burdick Chevrolet will sponsor the popular spirit buttons for the Orange's six home football games this season. Buttons are complimentary, and the first, "Annihilate Gate," will be available at Driver's Village dealerships the week before Syracuse's season opener against Colgate Sept. 2.
In addition to sponsoring the buttons, the new partnership makes Driver's Village the official auto dealer group of Syracuse Athletics. Driver's Village dealerships will equip 10,000 vehicles with "Orange is the New Fast" window flags. The dealer group will also support all Syracuse IMG Radio Network broadcasts, including coaches show, with commercial inventory and have a presence on the Quad during football games and in the backcourt area of the Carrier Dome during basketball season.
Orange fans who visit Driver's Village will also have the opportunity to take "Test Drives for Tickets" throughout the SU football and basketball seasons.
"This is going to be a wonderful marriage," Orange head football coach Dino Babers said Thursday at an employee event in Driver's Village's Center Court. "To have those flags going around the community and to have 'Orange is the New Fast' on the back of these trucks is just outstanding."
The Colgate game will mark Babers' Dome debut. He brings a 37-16 career record and three conference championships into his first season with the Orange. Kickoff between Syracuse and Colgate is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
Season and individual game tickets for Orange football are on sale now online, by phone (888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Season tickets start at $99 ($16.50 per game) with lower-level seats in the end zones available for as little as $125. Single-game tickets start at $20 for non-conference games against Colgate and USF, $25 for the Louisville and NC State games, and $30 for the Virginia Tech and Florida State contests.
