SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Get on board for the final stop of the 2016 Syracuse University Athletics 'No Huddle Tour!' The Syracuse Chiefs host the second annual Syracuse University Athletics Night on Saturday, Aug. 27 at NBT Bank Stadium. SU Athletics Night, presented by Perry's Ice Cream, will take place when the Chiefs take on the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7:05 p.m.
Â
The event marks the last stop of the "No Huddle Tour" in advance of the college football season. Both first-year head football coach Dino Babers and new Syracuse Director of Athletics John Wildhack will throw out ceremonial first pitches and mingle with fans. Fans are invited to stop at the Syracuse Athletics table on the concourse for 2016 Orange team posters and giveaways.
Â
Otto the Orange, the SU Spirit Squad and the University Dance Team will also be on hand to help celebrate the occasion. They will be performing throughout the game and also interacting with fans at the park. Syracuse University track & field student-athlete Chevis J. Armstead II will perform the national anthem.
Â
"It's great for fans of all Syracuse sports to have the 'No Huddle tour' here at NBT Bank Stadium," said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "We're excited to help kick off the full fall athletics season for the University in a fun interactive way! Chiefs fans are SU fans and vice versa, so we are extremely happy to continue this partnership with our friends on The Hill."
Â
The first 1,000 fans through the gates, which open at 6 p.m., receive a combination Syracuse University and Syracuse Chiefs rally towel. Additionally, Perry's will introduce a new ice cream flavor at the game called "Cuse 44," a salty caramel ice cream with crushed cream-filled cookies and orange-colored pretzel balls. Perry's will give away 500 coupons for $1 off the 1.5-quart size, and the dish will be available throughout the evening at Scooch's Scoops Ice Cream Shop.
Â
Fans can also enjoy a fireworks extravaganza following the game, also sponsored by Perry's. The fireworks show concludes the final Super Saturday of the season. The Chiefs' last fireworks show of the year will follow Monday's game between the Chiefs and Red Sox.
The 'No Huddle Tour' kicked off in May with stops in Buffalo, Rochester and Binghamton. In June, the 'No Huddle Tour' made stops at the Taste of Syracuse as well as the Syracuse Strawberry Festival and LEON Festival.
The 2016 Orange football team opens the 2016 season at home on Friday, Sept. 2 against Colgate. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. Season tickets are available online, by phone (888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).
Â
Single-game tickets for all home games are also on sale now. Tickets start at $20 for non-conference games against Colgate and USF, $25 for the Louisville and NC State games, and $30 for the Virginia Tech and Florida State contests.
