The Syracuse men placed seven runners in the top-14, including the meet's individual champion Iliass Aouani, who was competing in his Syracuse debut, to highlight the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational for the Orange.
In addition to the men's win, the women's team placed third, with freshman Madeleine Davison reaching the podium with a third place finish overall.
Behind Aouani, who crossed the line in 26:17.1, Philo Germano (26:24.5) and Joel Hubbard (26:25.3) finished in second and third respectively. Kevin James (6th.26:38.3) and TJ Hornberger (7th/26:40.9) rounded out the scoring, while Shawn Wilson and Griff Molino finished ninth and 14th respectively to round out Syracuse's top-seven.
The Orange's 19 points claimed the meet by a wide margin over second place Cornell (67). Georgetown (90), Lehigh (125), Penn State (146), St. Joseph's (157), Rutgers (175), Princeton (211) and Grove City (273) made up the team scores for the men.
For the women, the Orange's youth movement led the way once again as it did in the Harry Lang Invitational a week ago. 'Cuse's top-four all are new to the program, three of which are true freshmen.
Davison crossed the line in 21:11, behind a Nittany Lion tandem to lead the way, where she was followed by fellow freshman McKenzie Altmayer in 21:36, which was good for 11th overall. Junior transfer Paige Stoner took 15th in 21:45 with Emma Wilson one spot back in 21:47. Senior Sydney Leiher (22:09) rounded out the 'Cuse scoring in 22nd.
Alex Cooper (25th/22:26) and Chelsie Pennello (30th/22:50) rounded out the Orange's top-seven.
Penn State claimed the overall win with 37 points, followed by Georgetown's 55, ahead of Syracuse's 67. Behind SU came Cornell (73), West Virginia (147), Rutgers (169), St. Joseph's (183), Grove City (256) and Messiah (268).
Next, Syracuse will compete at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by Virginia, on Friday, Sept. 23.
