Eight former players in action during season's first week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eight former members of the Syracuse University football program took the field during Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season. Outside linebacker Chandler Jones had the most noteworthy performance, notching five tackles, including one sack, and a fumble recovery for Arizona on Sept. 11.

Jay Bromley, New York Giants
- Made two tackles in New York's victory at Dallas on Sept. 11.

Riley Dixon, Denver Broncos
- Punted three times for 140 yards (46.7 avg.) in Denver's Sept. 8 win versus Carolina.

Dwight Freeney, Atlanta Falcons
- Made his Atlanta debut against Tampa Bay on Sept. 11.

Chandler Jones, Arizona Cardinals
- Recorded five tackles, including one sack, and a fumble recovery for Arizona against New England on Sept. 11.

Ryan Nassib, New York Giants
- Did not play at Dallas on Sept. 11. Backup quarterback behind 13-year veteran Eli Manning.

- Earned the starting nod at right guard for San Francisco in its win against Los Angeles on Sept. 12.

- Tallied one tackle in Pittsburgh's victory at Washington on Sept. 12.
