Syracuse travels to Iowa for UNI Tournament

Orange meet Northwestern, Illinois State and UNI in Cedar Falls
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After hosting the Syracuse Tournament this past weekend, the Orange take to the road for the UNI Tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa, their last non-conference challenge before opening ACC play. 'Cuse will match up against three midwestern opponents in Northwestern, Illinois State and UNI. A schedule of the tournament can be found below.
Syracuse (1-6, 0-0 ACC) will face Northwestern (5-4, 0-0 Big Ten) first on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. (ET). The game marks the first time the two programs will play each other.
The Wildcats are coming off a 1-2 showing at the Lipscomb Invitational this past weekend in Nashville, Tennessee where they fell to Ole Miss and Lipscomb, but defeated fellow ACC member Virginia Tech.
The Orange will play Illinois State (5-5, 0-0 MVC) on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. This will be the fourth time the two programs meet on the court. Syracuse will fight to secure the first program win against the Redbirds.
Illinois State played in the Blue Raider Bash last weekend where they defeated Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Tech, but fell to Seton Hall.
On Saturday night, the Orange will take on tournament host UNI (5-4, 0-0 MVC) in an 8 p.m. game. The meeting marks the second between the programs, as UNI took the first game in three straight sets back in 1992.
The Panthers were 2-1 last weekend at the Kangaroo Klassic. They defeated Nebraska-Omaha and UMKC, but lost to Kansas in straight sets.
