SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange safety Antwan Cordy and cornerback Juwan Dowels will miss the remainder of the 2016 season due to injuries suffered against Louisville on Sept. 9.

Cordy injured his forearm in the second half and is scheduled to have surgery in the coming days. Dowels suffered a knee injury in the opening quarter and will have surgery scheduled for sometime in the next few weeks.
Â
The Orange's starting free safety, Cordy totaled eight tackles, one pass breakup, and a fumble recovery in the first two games. He made four tackles and recovered a fumble against the Cardinals before leaving the game in the fourth quarter. In 25 career games, Cordy has 86 tackles, including 13 for a loss. He ranked second on the team with 68 stops last season and set the Orange single-season record for most tackles for a loss by a defensive back (12).
