
Ebangwese, Palamar named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Santita Ebangwese of the volleyball team and Adam Palamar of the men's cross country team are this week's Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Ebangwese is a bio engineering major in the College of Arts and Sciences and is an active member of Syracuse's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
The Rochester, New York native was named to the 2016 UNI All-Tournament team. Ebangwese recorded season-high marks in kills (8), digs (3), assists (1) and points (9) in Syracuse's game vs. Illinois State last Saturday.
The middle blocker was named to the 2015 ACC All-Freshman team after helping the Orange blocking effort lead the nation in blocks per set (3.12).
Palamar is a senior biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Ottawa, Ontario native finished 46th at the 2016 Harry Lang Invitational with a time of 23 minutes, 24.8 seconds for the 6.4-kilometer race. He was 40th at this year's Harry Groves Invitational hosted by Penn State. Palamar recorded a time of 27:47.6 for the 8.4K course.
Palamar was a 2015 indoor track All-American after finishing eighth in the mile at last year's NCAA Championship.
Ebangwese and the volleyball team return home to open ACC play at the Women's Building. The Orange host Boston College on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and NC State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission to both games is free of charge.
Palamar and the men's cross country team travel to Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend to participate in the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by fellow ACC member Virginia.
