Freeney records first sack in Atlanta uniform
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eight former members of the Orange football program took the field during the third week of the 2016 NFL season. Here's a quick recap of how they fared:
Jay Bromley, New York Giants
- Made one tackle against Washington on Sept. 25.
Riley Dixon, Denver Broncos
- Punted five times for 231 yards (46.2 avg.) in Denver's win at Cincinnati on Sept. 25.
Dwight Freeney, Atlanta Falcons
- Tallied two tackles, including one sack, in Atlanta's victory at New Orleans on Sept. 25.
Chandler Jones, Arizona Cardinals
- Three tackles, including a sack, at Buffalo on Sept. 25.
- Ranks fifth in the NFL with three sacks in 2016.
Ryan Nassib, New York Giants
- Did not play against Washington on Sept. 25.
- Backup quarterback behind 13-year veteran Eli Manning.
Justin Pugh, New York Giants
- Started at left guard against Washington on Sept. 25.
Andrew Tiller, San Francisco 49ers
- Started his third straight game for San Francisco at Seattle on Sept. 25.
Shamarko Thomas, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Made one tackle at Philadelphia on Sept. 25.
