Etta-Tawo Named ACC Receiver of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse redshirt senior wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Receiver of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for his performance in the Orange's season-opening win against Colgate.

Etta-Tawo posted the most receiving yards in the FBS during Week 1 of the college football season in his Orange debut. The graduate transfer caught a career-high 12 passes for a personal-best 210 yards and one touchdown to help the Orange to a 33-7 victory. It was Etta-Tawo's third career 100-yard receiving game and the sixth 200-yard receiving game in Syracuse history. His 210 yards rank fifth on the Orange single-game receiving yardage ledger.

Etta-Tawo averaged 17.5 yards per catch, including a 43-yard TD reception in the first quarter for Syracuse's initial touchdown of the 2016 campaign.

Syracuse continues its three-game Carrier Dome homestand against ACC Atlantic Division foe Louisville on Friday, Sept. 9. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN2. Friday's game is an 'Orange Out' and all fans are encouraged to wear their favorite orange-colored gear and be in their seats 30 minutes before kickoff to welcome head coach Dino Babers and the team onto the field.
