Orange Alums Help Team USA to Two Victories

BRADENTON, Fla. – Five Syracuse All-Americans helped the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Team to a pair of wins at the annual Team USA Spring Premiere held last weekend in Bradenton, Fla. The squad defeated Florida, 20-19, on Saturday, Jan. 14 and Notre Dame, 22-5, on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Kayla Treanor '16 finished the weekend with six points on four goals and two assists. Four of her points came against the Fighting Irish on two goals and two assists. Michelle Tumolo '13 recorded an assist in both games, including the assist on the game-winning goal against Florida, while Alyssa Murray '14 had an assist against the Gators. Becca Block '13 played in both contests on defense, and goalkeeper Liz Hogan '11 made three saves against Florida and four against Notre Dame.

A total of 25 players competed in the Spring Premier for the U.S. Head coach Ricky Fried is expected to name the 18-playER U.S. Team, plus two alternates, later this week for the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse World Cup to be held July 12-22 in England.
