SYRACUSE, N.Y. – College Factual, a website that assists students with selecting a college, has ranked Syracuse as the best place in the country to play Division I men's soccer. The rankings were based on athletic success, school quality and the academic success of student-athletes.
Â
Since taking over the helm of the program in 2010, head coach Ian McIntyre has guided the Orange to a record of 74-47-17. Syracuse has played in the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five years and have advanced to the third round the past three seasons. The Orange earned their first No. 1 ranking in 2014. A year later, Syracuse won its first ACC Championship and advanced to the College Cup for the first time.
Â
This past season, the Orange again earned the top spot in the national rankings in September and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the third round. Sophomore Miles Robinson (Arlington, Mass.) earned NSCAA All-America First Team honors and was voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
