Orange in the NFL - Week 6 - Syracuse University Athletics

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Six former members of the Syracuse University football program, including Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone, were in action during Week 6 of the 2017 NFL season.

Linebacker Chandler Jones is making life difficult for opposing quarterbacks. He recorded his team-leading sixth sack of the season against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Jones ranks sixth in the NFL in sacks and is averaging one per game.

Below is a quick recap of how Syracuse football alums fared last Sunday:

Jay Bromley, DT, New York Giants
- Played, but did not record any statistics in the Giants 23-10 win over Denver on Oct. 15.

Riley Dixon, P, Denver Broncos
- Punted three times for an average of 44.3 per kick, including a season-long, 55-yarder against the New York Giants on Oct. 15.

Chandler Jones, OLB, Arizona Cardinals
- Tallied three tackles, including his sixth sack of the season, against Tampa Bay on Oct. 15.

Justin Pugh, OL, New York Giants
- Made his sixth consecutive start along the offensive line in New York's 23-10 win over Denver on Oct. 15.

Cameron Lynch, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Made one tackle against Arizona on Oct. 15.

Shamarko Thomas, DB, Buffalo Bills
- Bye week. The Bills face Tampa Bay on Oct. 22.

Doug Marrone, Head Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars
- The fell to 3-3 after a 27-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 15.
