Orange in the NFL - Week 8 - Syracuse University Athletics

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Four former members of the Syracuse University football program were in action during Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season.

After signing with Buffalo on Oct. 3, Shamarko Thomas has recorded a tackle in two of his three games with the Bills, including one last weekend against Oakland. The Bills sit in second place in the AFC East with a 5-2 record.

Over in the NFC, Dwight Freeney made his Seattle Seahawks debut and logged half a sack to raise his career total to 123.

Jay Bromley, DT, New York Giants
- Bye week. The Giants face the Rams on Nov. 5.

Riley Dixon, P, Denver Broncos
- Averaged 40.5 yards on four punts in Denver's 29-19 loss to Kansas City on Oct. 30.

Dwight Freeney, DE, Seattle Seahawks
- Recorded 0.5 sack in his debut with Seattle against Houston on Oct. 29.

Chandler Jones, OLB, Arizona Cardinals
- Bye week. The Cardinals face the 49ers on Nov. 5.

Justin Pugh, OL, New York Giants
- Bye week. The Giants face the Rams on Nov. 5.

Cameron Lynch, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Made a special teams tackle against Carolina on Oct. 29.

Shamarko Thomas, DB, Buffalo Bills
- Recorded a special teams tackle in Buffalo's 34-14 victory over Oakland on Oct. 29.

Doug Marrone, Head Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Bye week. The Jaguars face the Bengals on Nov. 5.
