SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In this week's Orange Extra, Steve Ishmael and Cole Murphy set Syracuse records, the Orange continue an impressive scoring streak and Syracuse prepares to see what a Heisman Trophy winner looks like.

POTENT POINT PRODUCTION
Syracuse has scored at least 19 points in each of its first 10 outings this season. You have to do some digging to find the last campaign in which the Orange accomplished that feat.
The last time the Orange made it through a fall in which it scored at least that many points in every game was 1959 when Syracuse forged an undefeated, 11-0 campaign, which culminated in the national championship.
The Orange have scored at least 17 points in all 22 contests of Coach Dino Babers' tenure. Syracuse is averaging 30.5 points per game in 2017 and is coming off a game in which tallied 43 against a Wake Forest, its top season total versus an FBS opponent.
ISHMAEL'S STAGGERING NUMBERS
Biletnikoff Award and All-America candidate Steve Ishmael continues to assault the Syracuse record book. He added to his totals last Saturday against Wake Forest when he equaled his personal-best effort of 14 catches. Ishmael has had double-digit catch totals in five of 10 games this season. In his last two games, versus Florida State and Wake Forest, Ishmael has accumulated 26 receptions for 288 yards.
Ishmael is second among FBS performers in receptions per game with an average of 9.2. Only Trey Quinn from SMU has a higher number. Ishmael's teammate, Ervin Philips, is fifth (7.9).
With 92 catches in 2017, Ishmael has moved into second on Syracuse's single-season list. The program record-holder is Amba Etta-Tawo, who had 94 receptions a year ago. Ismael also maneuvered into second on the Orange career ledger. He has 206 total receptions, just behind teammate Ervin Philip's 213.
He is averaging 113.1 receiving yards each game, good for third nationally. His 1,131 receiving yards rank third behind Colorado State's Michael Gallup (1,296) and James Washington (1,158) from Oklahoma State. Nine FBS players have totaled 1,000 receiving yards this season.
Ishmael is tied with Marvin Harrison for second on the season receiving yards ledger at Syracuse with 1,131. Etta-Tawo owns the record with 1,482. Ishmael joins Etta-Tawo, Harrison, Alec Lemon (1,070) and Rob Moore (1,064) as Syracuse players who tallied 1,000 yards in a season. Ishmael jumped past Lemon (2,596) on the career receiving yards list and into second place with 2,675. The Orange leader is Harrison (2,728).
MURPHY KICKS HIS WAY TO 'CUSE RECORD
With two made field goals against Wake Forest, Cole Murphy set two Syracuse records. His second 3-pointer of the game gave him 19 in 2017, one better than Ross Krautman (2010) and Gary Anderson (1981) had in their best years.
Murphy also upped his career field goal total to 58, one better than the standard set by John Biskup (1989-92).
Murphy is third in career extra points at Syracuse with 115. Only Biskup (125) and Nate Trout (187) had more in their careers.
For the season, Murphy leads the ACC in kicking points with 88. He is third in the league in scoring among players at all positions.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH LAMAR JACKSON
Saturday's pairing with Louisville offers Syracuse a second opportunity for the Orange to face a reigning Heisman Trophy winner. The Cards feature quarterback Lamar Jackson, who earned the prestigious award a year ago. Jackson leads the nation in total offense average (417.9). He has rushed for 1,176 yards and passed for 3,003 yards in 2017. He is the first quarterback in NCAA history with multiple 1,000-yard rushing and 3,000-yard passing seasons.
Prior to that, the Orange encountered Florida State's Jameis Winston in 2014, one season after he was presented with the Heisman Trophy.
BIG EAST AND ACC RESIDENTS
Syracuse and Louisville have shared conference affiliations in two leagues. The Orange and Cardinals were BIG EAST Conference residents from 2005-12. Syracuse was already an ACC member when the Cards joined in 2014.
The Orange have three other former BIG EAST members on the 2017 schedule – Pittsburgh, Miami and Boston College.
