GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse wide receiver Steve Ishmael was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Receiver of the Week on Monday, Nov. 6 for his performance at Florida State Saturday. Ishmael caught 12 passes for a career-high 143 yards and a touchdown against the Seminoles.
Â
The 6-2 senior split his production evenly over both halves. In the first two quarters, Ishmael snagged six passes for 86 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown that cut the Florida State lead to 21-14. In the second half, Ishmael had six receptions for 57 yards, including a 9-yard grab along the sideline with 11 seconds to play that helped set up a potential tying field-goal attempt.
Â
The performance marked Ishmael's sixth 100-yard receiving game in 2017, one short of the Syracuse record (7) set by Amba Etta-Tawo last season.
Â
Ishmael currently ranks second in the FBS in receptions per game (8.7), total receptions (78) and fourth in receiving yards (986) and receiving yards per game (109.6).
Â
Ishmael and the Orange return home this week to host Wake Forest on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Carrier Dome. Kickoff is 3 p.m. on RSN.
Â
Saturday is Military Appreciation Day, presented by SEFCU. As part of the "Cuse for the Troops" program, active-duty military personnel and veterans are eligible to receive free tickets to the game until the end of the day today by signing up at Cuse.com/military. They are $10 the day of the game.
