GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse sophomore Mo Adams and freshman Tajon Buchanan have been selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer squads in a vote by the league head coaches. Adams earned All-ACC Second Team honors, while Buchanan was chosen to the All-ACC Third Team and the conference's All-Freshman Team.
Â
It marks the second consecutive year that Adams has earned All-Conference honors after being voted to the All-ACC Third Team as a freshman. In 2017, he started all 16 matches in which he played in the midfield and helped the Orange record two shutouts. Adams was named to the Watch List for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy, which goes to the top collegiate player in the nation, earlier this season.
Â
Buchanan started all 18 matches in his rookie campaign. He ranked third on the team in goals (4) and tied for third in points (10). He scored his first career goal in overtime in the season opener at St. Louis to give Syracuse a 2-1 victory. Buchanan recorded a season-high three points on a goal and an assist in the Orange's victory against Northwestern in the Central New York Classic. Buchanan's selection to the ACC All-Freshman Team marks the fifth consecutive year that Syracuse has had at least one player earn the honor.
Â
The Orange posted a 6-8-3 record in 2017. Syracuse tied No. 9 Clemson, 2-2, but lost the penalty kick shootout, 4-3, in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
