Orange in the NFL - Week 15 - Syracuse University Athletics

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Six former members of the Syracuse University football program, including former head coach and offensive lineman Doug Marrone, were in action during Week 15 of the 2017 NFL season.

Marrone guided the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 45-7 win against Houston to clinch a berth in the AFC playoffs. The Jaguars racked up 25 first downs and 464 yards of offense compared to nine first downs and 186 yards for the Texans. The playoff bid is the franchise's first since 2007.

Below is a quick recap of how Syracuse's football alums fared last weekend:

Jay Bromley, DT, New York Giants
- Credited with a hit on the quarterback versus Philadelphia on Dec. 17.

Riley Dixon, P, Denver Broncos
- Had one 52-yard punt that was downed inside the 20 in Denver's win at Indianapolis on Dec. 14.

Dwight Freeney, DE, Detroit Lions
- Played, but did not record any statistics versus Chicago on Dec. 16.

Chandler Jones, OLB, Arizona Cardinals
- Two tackles, including a sack, at Washington on Dec. 17.

Shamarko Thomas, DB, Buffalo Bills
- Played, but did not record any statistics in Buffalo's win against Miami on Dec. 17.

Doug Marrone, Head Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Coached the Jaguars to a 45-7 victory over Houston on Dec. 17 to clinch a playoff berth. Jacksonville is 10-4 and in first place in the AFC South.
