- Syracuse had its season-long five-game losing streak snapped at Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Orange are now 16-10 overall, 8-5 in ACC play.
- Syracuse has only five regular-season games left but will only face three different opponents in those contests. The Orange will play both Louisville and Georgia Tech twice during the next three weeks. Syracuse will also host Duke on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
- Graduate student John Gillon sank all five of his free throws against Pittsburgh to extend his streak without a miss at the charity stripe to 34, tying Brandon Triche's school-record for consecutive makes. Â
CAGING THE CARDINALS
- Louisville rebounded from its 71-55 loss at Virginia on Feb. 6 with a 71-66 victory against Miami on Saturday. The win improved the Cardinals' record to 20-5 overall, including an 8-4 conference record.
- Louisville ranks second in the ACC in scoring defense, allowing 62.8 points per game, and leads the conference in field goal percentage defense (.386). The Cardinals are also second in the league in scoring margin (+14.4).
- Donovan Mitchell is Louisville's leading scorer, averaging 15.1 points per game. Quentin Snider (12.1 ppg.) and Deng Adel (11.4 ppg.) also average double figures in scoring.
- Rick Pitino is in his 16th season at the helm of the Louisville program. He guided the Cardinals to the 2013 national championship.
THE SERIES
Monday's contest marks the 25th meeting between the squads. Louisville leads the series, 16-8. Last season, the teams met just once in Louisville. The Cardinals came out on top in that game, 72-58.
