Orange, Blue Devils Renew Rivalry Wednesday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse and Duke look to add another chapter to their memorable series when they meet in the Carrier Dome on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The Orange and No. 10/11 Blue Devils will tip off at 7 p.m.

FOR STARTERS
- Syracuse will try to snap a three-game losing streak on Wednesday. The Orange enter the contest with a 16-12 overall record and an 8-7 mark in conference play. Syracuse is 14-3 in the Carrier Dome this season. With three games remaining in the regular season, the Orange are tied with Virginia for seventh place in the ACC standings. Â
- Freshman Taurean Thompson recorded his first career  double-double at Georgia Tech, scoring a team-high 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. For the season, he is averaging 8.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
- Graduate student Andrew White III scored 17 points for the Orange against the Yellow Jackets, marking the 27th time this season he has reached double digits in scoring. White ranks eighth in the ACC in scoring average, with 17.9 points per game
BREAKING DOWN THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke comes into Wednesday's contest on a seven-game win streak against fellow ACC opponents. The Blue Devils are 22-5 overall, including a 10-4 mark in ACC contests. All five of Duke's losses this season have been road matches. Â
- Sophomore Luke Kennard leads Duke in scoring, averaging 20.0 points per game. Three other Blue Devils are averaging double figures in points, including freshman Jayson Tatum, who has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week for the past two weeks.
- Mike Krzyzewski is in his 37th year at the helm of Duke men's basketball. Krzyzewski leads the NCAA in wins with an all-time record of 1,065-326.
THE RIVALRY
Duke leads the all-time series against Syracuse, 5-4. Since the Orange joined the ACC in 2013-14, the Blue Devils have won three of the five meetings between the two schools. Last season, the teams met only once in Cameroon Indoor Stadium. Senior Tyler Roberson scored 14 points and pulled down 20 rebounds, the most ever by a visiting player at Cameron, to lead Syracuse to a 64-62 victory.

UP NEXT…
Following Wednesday's game, the Orange have just two regular-season games remaining. Syracuse goes on the road to take on No. 7/6 Louisville on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. before hosting Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale on Saturday, Mar. 4 at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
