Orange Stay No. 6 in Maverik Media Poll

The Syracuse men's lacrosse team (4-1, 1-0 ACC) remained No. 6 in the Maverik Media Poll after a 9-8 victory over St. John's in what was their fourth-straight one-goal game.
Denver is the new No. 1 after defeating now No. 2 Notre Dame 11-10 on Sunday, with the Pioneers collecting 617 points and 16 first-place votes, followed by the Fighting Irish's 576 points and two first- place votes.
Penn State is the highest ranked unbeaten team at 7-0 on the season, they collected 570 points and eight first-place votes to earn the No. 3 spot this week. The Nittany Lions are followed by Maryland (558 points, four first-place votes) and Rutgers (507 points, one first-place vote) ahead of the Orange, which collected 449 points in this week's poll.
No. 7 Hofstra is also receiving a first place vote with 395 points overall.
Johns Hopkins, Syracuse's opponent this week, slipped to No. 14 following a loss to now No. 11 Towson on Saturday. In addition to the Blue Jays, Syracuse will face No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 9 North Carolina, and No. 13 Duke later this season. 'Cuse's past opponents are also well represented in the poll, with Albany checking in at No. 8, Army joining the top-10 in 10th, and Virginia checking in at No. 12.
SU's game at Hopkins will face off at 4 p.m. on Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
