
O'Hara, Lovell Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sydney O'Hara of the softball team and Paul Lovell of the men's track and field team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
O'Hara is a human development and family science major with a physical education coaching minor in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The senior is a member of the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). O'Hara has been a representative of SAAC for two years and has been involved with the carnival held at a women's basketball game, and led a leadership workshop for freshmen on conflict resolution.
The Cicero, N.Y. native was recently named the espnW Player of the Week after blasting four home runs in four at bats at NC State, tying a NCAA record.
O'Hara and the softball team will host Louisville at Skytop Softball Stadium this weekend. The Orange will take on the Cardinals on Friday (1 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.).
Lovell is a biotechnology major and a forensic science minor. The senior is also an active member of SAAC. He led a leadership workshop for freshmen on goal setting.
The Stow, Ohio native had five top 10 finishes in the Orange's indoor season, including a fourth place finish in the Distance Medley Relay in the ACC Championship.
Lovell and the men's track and field team will begin the outdoor season on March 31 with the team participating in the Florida Relays and the Stanford Invitational.
