‘Cuse faces Panthers on the road
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following a two-game sweep of Canisius, the Orange (21-15, 3-9 ACC) head to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to match up with the Panthers (21-16, 4-11 ACC) for a three-game series at Vartabedian Field. The pair will play a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and a single game on Saturday at Noon.
All three games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, and live stats will be available.
Syracuse enters into this weekend's three-game series with an 18-11 all-time series advantage over the Panthers. Pitt has claimed the three most recent meetings dating back to April 11, 2015. Before that game, the Orange were the winners of six-straight contests with the Panthers.
Pitt is 21-16 overall this season, with a 4-11 league record. Most recently, the Panthers claimed the home sweep of fellow ACC member Virginia Tech. Last season, UP was 31-21 and 8-14 in conference play. The Panthers earned a spot in the ACC tournament, but fell in the first round to nationally ranked #6 Florida State, 8-0 (6).
