
Germano Takes Second in 10k on Day 1 of ACCs

Philo Germano ran a strong 10,000-meter run, finishing second in the 10k and finding his way onto the podium to highlight day one of the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Germano made a move to the front with just over three laps left, eventually being out-kicked down the stretch by Virginia Tech's Peter Seufer by a half second. Germano crossed the line in 29:22.10 in his runner-up performance, with Colin Bennie (29:32.25) taking sixth.
In addition to the 'Cuse heavy men's race, Shannon Malone picked up the first points of the meet for the women, placing fourth in the women's 10k final – her best conference meet finish of her career – crossing the line in 34:49.19.
Her sister Mary Malone also turned in a top-10 performance in the event, finishing in 36:17.55. Anna Rohrer of Notre Dame won the race in 33:22.05.
Adam Palamar was the top-finisher on the day for 'Cuse, winning his heat in the 1500-meter prelims and posting the best time across both heats heading into Sunday's final. Palamar finished in 3:44.85 to move on.
Danielle Delgado also advanced in her event, taking fifth in the 400-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 58.50.
Action continues on Saturday at 5:45 on ACC Network Extra, beginning with the 100-meter hurdles prelims.
