SU's all-time leading passer getting a chance in New Orleans
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Orange quarterback Ryan Nassib signed with the New Orleans Saints as an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, June 13. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A fourth-round pick of the New York Giants in the 2013 NFL Draft, Nassib played in five-regular season games for the Giants from 2013-16. He was 9-for-10 passing for 128 yards and one touchdown in his four seasons with the club as Eli Manning's primary backup.

At Syracuse, Nassib was a three-year starter and earned Pro Football Weekly All-America and All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a senior in 2012. He holds the majority of the Orange's season and career passing records. Nassib finished his 'Cuse tenure with 791 completions, 1,312 attempts, 9,190 yards and 70 touchdowns. As a senior, he posted the top statistical passing season in team history, going 294-of-471 for 3,749 yards and 26 TDs. Â Â

In New Orleans, Nassib will compete with Garrett Grayson for the No. 3 quarterback spot behind starter Drew Brees and backup Chase Daniel. The Saints opened their three-day veteran minicamp yesterday.Â
