EMU Returns To The Dome Dec. 27

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eastern Michigan, coached by former SU assistant coach Rob Murphy, will make a return visit to the Dome to take on the Orange on December 27. It will mark the second straight season the two teams have met in Syracuse.
Syracuse has a 4-1 advantage in the series with Eastern Michigan and the Orange have captured the most recent four matchups. The two teams last met on December 19, 2016, and Syracuse prevailed, 105-57. Eastern Michigan's most recent triumph in the pairing was a 68-65 decision on December 14, 1996..
Murphy is in his seventh season in charge of the Eagle program. He has guided Eastern Michigan to a 107-97 overall record during his tenure. The Eagles were 16-17 a season ago.
Junior frontcourt performer James Thompson IV (14.8 ppg., 11.2 rpg.) is the top returning performer for Eastern Michigan. He is a two-time, second-team All-Mid-American Conference selection.
Syracuse was 19-15 and reached the second round of the NIT last season.
Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, enters his 42nd season as SU head coach.
