Zaire Franklin is first player in league history to represent his team three times
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior quarterback Eric Dungey and senior linebacker Zaire Franklin will join head coach Dino Babers as Syracuse's representatives at the 2017 ACC Football Kickoff. The league's annual media event takes place Thursday, July 13 and Friday, July 14 at the Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C. and features two student-athletes and the head coach from each of the ACC's 14 member institutions.
Â
Head coaches and players from ACC Atlantic Division schools will be available on July 13. Representatives from ACC Coastal Division teams are available on July 14. In addition to gathering interviews and sound bites, media in attendance vote on the preseason All-ACC teams as well as the league's predicted order of finish.
Â
Dungey is one of five quarterbacks who will be in attendance, joining Duke's Daniel Jones, Florida State's Deondre Francois, Louisville's Lamar Jackson and Virginia's Kurt Benkert.
Â
Franklin is making his third consecutive ACC Football Kickoff appearance. Since the conference began keeping records of Kickoff attendees in 1992, Franklin is the first player to represent his team three times.

The Lake Oswego, Ore. native holds the SU career records for most passing yards per game (233.9) and most yards of total offense per game (271.8).
Â
An All-ACC Third Team choice last season, Franklin is Syracuse's active leader in games started (27), tackles (226), tackles for loss (26), sacks (7) and forced fumbles (4). He was second on the Orange with 101 tackles in 2016 and ranked eighth in the ACC in tackles per game (8.4).
