Boeheim's Army March Ends In TBT Semis

Boeheim's Army, a team made up of former Syracuse players, saw its quest for The Basketball Tournament (TBT) crown, and a $2 million prize fall short on Tuesday night. The Orange lost to two-time defending TBT champions Overseas Elite in the semifinals, 81-77.
Eric Devendorf led Boeheim's Army with 24 points. Brandon Triche added 12 points and Trevor Cooney and C.J. Fair each had 10 points. Fair had a squad-best seven rebounds and Triche contributed six assists. Errick McCollum paced Overseas Elite with 18 points.
Although the lead only changed hands once and the score was tied twice, the contest was relatively close throughout. Boeheim's Army led by as many as six points in the first half while Overseas Elite had a game-best 10-point margin in the second half.
Boeheim's Army had won four games in the TBT, the squad's furthest advance in the event.Â
Other former Syracuse players who competed included John Gillon, Donte Greene, Rick Jackson, DaShonte Riley and James Southerland. Former Orange standout and current Liverpool High School coach Ryan Blackwell guided the squad.Â
