Franklin Named to Senior Bowl Watch List

MOBILE, Ala. – Senior linebacker Zaire Franklin was named to the watch list for the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl on Thursday, Aug. 24. The 69th Reese's Senior Bowl will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. It will be televised on the NFL Network.

The watch list includes more than 400 student-athletes looking to fill the 110 roster spots that make up the North and South squads for the nation's premier all-star game.

An All-ACC Third Team choice last season, Franklin is Syracuse's active leader in games started (27), tackles (226), tackles for loss (26), sacks (7) and forced fumbles (4). He was second on the Orange with 101 tackles in 2016 and ranked eighth in the ACC in tackles per game (8.4). The Philadelphia, Pa. product is a candidate for the 2017 Lott IMPACT Trophy and earned preseason All-ACC honors from Athlon Sports, Lindy's and Phil Steele.

Since 1954, Syracuse has had 57 players receive Senior Bowl invitations, including punter Riley Dixon in 2016 and wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo in 2017.
Syracuse kicks off the 2017 campaign against Central Connecticut State on Friday, Sept. 1 in the Carrier Dome. Season tickets, partial plans and group tickets are on sale now online (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (888-DOME-TIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Season tickets start at $125.

Single-game tickets for all home games are also on sale. Tickets start at $25 for non-conference games against Central Connecticut State, Middle Tennessee and Central Michigan, $30 for ACC matchups with Wake Forest and Boston College, $35 for the Oct. 7 Pittsburgh game on Orange Central Weekend, and $45 for the Clemson game on Oct. 13.
