#CuseCamp17: Week 4 Notebook

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head coach Dino Babers concluded his second fall camp as Syracuse's sideline leader yesterday. Thursday's 1 hour and 45 minute workout on Schwartzwalder Field capped a stretch of 20 preseason practices and two scrimmages that began July 30. The coaching staff and players are now fully focused on game preparation for next Friday's season opener versus Central Connecticut State.
BABERS GRADES #CUSECAMP17
Earlier this week, Babers told Spectrum News he was pleased with how the team went about its business during camp. He gave his second preseason camp a  B+, noting that the only reason he couldn't give it an A grade is because of the Orange's depth at certain positions.
"They really went after it. There are some things we can't do because of our lack of depth," Babers said. "But outside of that, I thought all the guys in camp really stretched themselves. We stretched them. We've really increased the reps and there's been no crying in football. They just went about their work and got it done."
'CUSE PRACTICES IN THE DOME
On Tuesday, Babers took the Orange to the Carrier Dome for the first time since April's Spring Showcase. In particular, he wanted to give the freshmen an opportunity practice in their new home. Babers also cited allowing the receivers to get used to the visuals of catching the ball with lights and Dome roof in the background. From a special teams standpoint, Babers also wanted the kickers and punters to familiarize themselves with the lighting and field conditions.
Syracuse has seven home games in 2017, including three in a row to start the season.
