StayBillety Provides Housing Options for Orange Fans
9/22/2017 12:55:00 PM | General
Syracuse University Athletics and StayBillety working together to help SU friends, families and fans find affordable accommodation when traveling. The partnership serves the local Syracuse community and the broader, global community of SU fans, family and alumni.Â
"We're seeing a growing demand for reasonably priced accommodation options for SU sports and alumni events," said Chris Fuller, Deputy Athletics Director/External Operations. "We hope Syracuse residents, especially those near the University Hill, will welcome families, fans and returning alumni into their homes by listing their extra spaces on the site."
StayBillety Hosts benefit financially from sharing their space. "This partnership with StayBillety is a great way for Syracuse-area residents to earn some extra income by renting their homes or spare rooms to Orange fans, family and alumni," said Barbara Jones, StayBillety Founder & CEO.
"The Athletics Department leadership really understands how StayBillety can both serve and strengthen the University's links to the Syracuse community. We look forward helping local residents register on the site as Hosts, and to connecting them with visiting Orange fans," said Jones, a Syracuse University alumna and Professor of Practice at the Newhouse School of Public Communications.
StayBillety is available throughout North America. Syracuse University alumni everywhere are encouraged to register, list their extra space and book to connect with fellow members of the SU family.
Â
More than 120 Syracuse University students and faculty have been involved in the research, design, development, marketing and launch of StayBillety.com. The initial site went live in March 2016.  The partnership with Syracuse Athletics marks the launch of StayBillety's first U.S. affiliation agreement.Â
Â
According to a recent emarketer report, almost 57 million Americans will use a sharing economy service this year.Â
