
Santora, Runfola Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dominic Santora of the men's rowing team and Danielle Runfola of the spirit squad are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
A senior from Cleveland, Ohio, Santora is studying in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. He is a member of the Syracuse University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was named to the IRA All-Academic team in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Santora is a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member and has qualified for the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll in all six of his completed semesters.
In the 2017 season, Santora was part of the first varsity eight boat in every event. He guided the first varsity eight to an eighth-place finish at the IRA Championship Regatta and coxswained the first varsity eight to an eighth-place performance at the EARC Men's Sprints.
A junior from Mount Sinai, N.Y., Runfola is majoring in inclusive elementary and special education. She is a representative of the Syracuse University SAAC and is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society. Runfola is the president of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a member of Peer2Peer.
A captain of the Syracuse dance team, Runfola devotes hours of time towards training, travel and game coverage.
Santora and the men's rowing team host Wisconsin on Saturday, Apr. 7 to kick-off the 2018 season.
