
Orange in the NFL Playoffs - Divisional Round

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse University offensive lineman and head coach Doug Marrone led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 45-42 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs last Sunday. The Jaguars will square off against defending Super Bowl champion New England this weekend in the AFC championship game.
The 2017 AFC Coach of the Year, Marrone, and another Syracuse football alum, Tom Coughlin, have retooled the Jacksonville roster and have the franchise on the brink of its first Super Bowl appearance. Coughlin is in his first season as Jacksonville's executive vice president for football operations.
Against the Steelers, the Jaguars jumped out a 21-0 lead before holding on for a three-point victory. Running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Blake Bortles threw for 214 yards, including a fourth-quarter touchdown.
Sunday's trip to the AFC title game is the for the Jaguars, and first since 1999. Kickoff between Jacksonville and New England is set for 3:05 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
