Official 'Orange Out' T-shirt On Sale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The ballots have been cast and the votes counted in this year's "Orange Out" game T-shirt design contest. The winner is Carla Fischer, a Syracuse alumna and member of the Syracuse University Alumni Association Board of Directors.For submitting the winning design, Fischer will receive a Syracuse Athletics prize pack that includes tickets to the 2018 "Orange Out" game versus North Carolina (Oct. 20) during Orange Central/Homecoming Weekend.
Fischer's winning concept features head coach Dino Babers' three postgame speeches from Syracuse's wins over Virginia Tech (2016), Clemson (2017) and Florida State (2018).Â
A 1987 Syracuse University graduate, Fischer was one of two All-University marshals as a senior. In 1998, she earned the distinction of "Outstanding Young Alumni" for her ongoing service and dedication to the University.
The current president of Annex Learning, Inc., Fischer serves as the executive committee chair for the University's Alumni Awards. She and her husband, Doug, reside in the Syracuse area.
"I have a shortcut to Dino Babers' locker room speech on my desktop," Fischer said when asked about her winning concept. "I click on it whenever I need a little inspiration. I feel like I am not alone." Â
Fischer's favorite memories of Syracuse include the football team's historic win against No. 1 Nebraska in 1984.
"I was in the student section for the 1984 win over Nebraska. Mike Siano caught that miracle pass just across the field from us," Fischer said. "I still have the newspapers from that win. For that reason, we never leave a football game until the clock runs out. I want to say 'I was there' whenever those big wins come along."
The shirt with Fischer's design is on sale now at multiple area retailers, including the Syracuse University Bookstore. Orders can be placed online through the Bookstore's website by visiting Cuse.com/OrangeOut2018.
Group tickets and individual game tickets for Syracuse football are on sale now online (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (888-DOME-TIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Tickets start at $35 for Syracuse's three remaining home games versus North Carolina, NC State and Louisville.Â
