SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University's allotment of tickets for the Orange's Nov. 17 football game against Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium is sold out.
Orange fans who wish to attend the game are encouraged to visit Stubhub.com, the official secondary marketplace of Syracuse Athletics, to purchase any tickets that may be available.
Originally scheduled for Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, the game was moved by the Irish to Yankee Stadium last December as part of their Shamrock Series. The matchup caps the Orange's "Cuse in the City" week, which also features Syracuse's women's basketball game versus Texas A&M at Westchester Arena on Nov. 14 and the men's basketball team's appearance in the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15 & 16.
The Orange football team is 7-1 all-time at Yankee Stadium, including beating the Irish 14-7 on Thanksgiving Day in 1963, less than a week after President John F. Kennedy's assassination. Other notable triumphs include a 3-0 win against Pittsburgh on Oct. 20, 1923 in the first football game ever played at the old stadium. In 2010 and 2012, the Orange won New Era Pinstripe Bowl championships at the new stadium, beating Kansas State and West Virginia, respectively.
Syracuse is 6-2 and ranked No. 19 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) Top 25. The Orange visit Wake Forest this Saturday.
The Irish are currently undefeated (8-0) and ranked No. 4 in the CFP poll. They travel to Evanston, Ill. Saturday for a matchup with Big Ten foe Northwestern.
