
Sidibe, Lutz Named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Syracuse men's basketball's Bourama Sidibe and spirit squad's Carleigh Lutz are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 12

Sidibe, a sophomore from Bamako, Mali, is enrolled in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. He was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll following the fall 2017 semester.

The forward has played in both games this season for the Orange, opening the season with eight points against Eastern Washington. He also notched eight rebounds against Morehead State. In his freshman campaign, Sidibe played in 30 of 37 games for the Orange where he averaged 2.7 points a game and 3.2 rebounds a game.

Lutz is a sophomore from Barnegat, N.J. who is majoring in environmental engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. She is in the Renee Crown Honors Program and an Engineering Leadership Scholar. Lutz has earned Dean's List honors in both of her completed semesters at Syracuse. She is currently in her second season as a member of the Syracuse University Dance Team.

Sidibe and the men's basketball team close out the 2K Empire Classic with a pair of games next week at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The first game is against Connecticut on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. The second game will be against Iowa or Oregon on Friday, Nov. 16 at either 4:30 or 6:30 p.m.
