
Syracuse Hosts Wake Forest for Senior Day

The Syracuse University volleyball team is set for its regular-season finale Saturday, Nov. 24 as they welcome Wake Forest to town. With free admission and parking, the match is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
Syracuse (17-8, 13-4 ACC) will recognize its five graduating seniors – Santita Ebangwese, Anastasiya Gorelina, Christina Oyawale, Jalissa Trotter and Amber Witherspoon during Saturday's match.
THE MATCHUP
Wake Forest (10-19, 5-12 ACC) is coming off a 3-1 victory over Clemson last Friday where the Demon Deacons dropped the first set but rebounded with three-straights to secure their 10th victory of the season. Ranking 14th in the ACC with a .184 hitting percentage, Wake Forest also ranks at the bottom of the conference with 11.43 digs per set. Conference opponents are averaging 2.29 blocks per set against Wake Forest with a .235 hitting percentage.
The Orange hold a 7-0 series record over Wake Forest, including a 3-1 victory earlier this season. Syracuse used a then season-high 18 blocks to defeat the Deacons, 3-1. Ebangwese recorded nine of the team's blocks as well as 13 kills on 18 attacks for a .667 hitting percentage.
LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse was unable to find an answer for NC State's offensive attack as the Wolfpack defeated Syracuse, 3-0, earlier this week. Polina Shemanova led the Orange with 10 kills followed by Ebangwese's match-high five blocks. Ebangwese had an error-less performance hitting .600 on a 6-of-10 performance. Syracuse had just eight attack errors, its fewest of the season, for a .240 hitting percentage.

Following Saturday's match, the Syracuse volleyball team will await to hear its fate during the NCAA Volleyball selection show. The hour-long selection show is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
