12/14/2018 2:30:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
Eight of the top-16 teams in America face the Orange this season.
Eight games against teams ranked in the top-16 Inside Lacrosse's Face-Off Yearbook, six of which are at home, highlight a challenging 2019 slate for the Syracuse men's lacrosse program.
'Cuse, which checked in at No. 11 in Inside Lacrosse's preseason poll, welcomes back its most experienced group in the modern era of the program. Losing just two starters off the 2018 squad which claimed the ACC Regular Season Championship for the second year in a row, the entire Orange starting defense and first midfield line return, plus four of the top-five players who saw the most action on attack.

Head Coach John Desko, who has won four-straight ACC Coach of the Year honors, will see his squad kick off the 2019 slate on Friday, Feb. 8 against Colgate, the first of three-straight games against in-state opponents. The Orange will also play their first-seven games at home this season.
Albany, which checked in at No. 15 in the Face-Off Yearbook poll, will be Syracuse's first ranked test of the year on Saturday, Feb. 16. Army West Point comes to town a week later (Feb. 24), in a rematch of last year's triple-overtime thriller.
ACC play opens up in the Dome against No. 8 Virginia on March 2. Then longtime rival No. 9 Johns Hopkins visits Central New York on March 9, in the second of five-straight games against teams ranked in the top-12 of the Inside Lacrosse poll.
No. 12 Rutgers and No. 2 Duke round out the seven-game homestand to start the season on March 16 and March 24, respectively.
'Cuse will hit the road for the first time on March 30, heading to South Bend to take on No. 6 Notre Dame. A second-straight road trip follows on Tuesday, April 2, when the Orange head to Geneva to play for the Kraus-Simmons Trophy at Hobart.
Another one of the Orange's longest rivals will visit the Dome a week later, when No. 5 Cornell visits 'Cuse on Tuesday, April 9 to close out the Orange's regular season home slate.
The final regular season ACC battle will be at North Carolina on Saturday April 13, before Syracuse closes its regular season at Navy on Saturday, April 20.
The restructured ACC Tournament begins on Thursday April 25 in Chapel Hill, N.C. The two teams seeded fourth and fifth will play a first round matchup. The winner advances to the semifinals on Saturday, Aptil 27 to face the No. 1 seed. The No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will play the other semifinal matchup.
One week later, the highest remaining seed of the two semifinals will host the ACC Championship Game on campus on Saturday, May 4.
Selection Sunday is May 5 this year, with the Orange hoping to make a run to Championship Weekend at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hofstra and UConn will host the two NCAA Quarterfinal sites this season, while the first round will once again take place on campus sites of the higher seed.
Season tickets remain the best value for Syracuse lacrosse fans. At just $65 ($35 for youth), fans get a ticket to all-eight home matchups, seating in the reserved section behind the Orange bench and other exclusive season ticket holder offers throughout the season. Season parking passes are also available at just $50 for the year in prime tailgating location in the surface lots adjacent to the Carrier Dome.
