SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Five former members of the Syracuse football program, including Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone, took the field during Week 15 of the 2018 NFL season.
Punter Riley Dixon used his legs in more ways than one in New York's loss to Tennessee this past Sunday, running for a first down in addition to kicking six times for 237 yards (39.5 avg.). Dixon's improvised dash came after he mishandled the football and he chose to take advantage of the Titans' retreating return team. Dixon scampered 14 yards on fourth-and-10 from the Giants' 41-yard line to pick up the first down.
Here's a quick recap of how Syracuse football alums fared in the 15th week of the season:
Chandler Jones, DE, Arizona Cardinals
- Two tackles, including one tackle for loss, in Arizona's loss to Atlanta.Â
- Tied for eighth in the NFL with 12 sacks and tied for 10th with three forced fumbles through 14 games.
- Fastest player in Arizona franchise history to reach 40 sacks (44 games).
Cameron Lynch, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Played, but did not record any statistics in Tampa Bay's loss to Baltimore.
Zaire Franklin, LB, Indianapolis Colts
- Played, but did not record any statistics in Indianapolis' shutout win over Dallas.
Riley Dixon, P, New York Giants

- Finished the game as the Giants' second-leading rusher after running for 14 yards and a first down during an attempted punt.
Â
