SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse looks to return to its winning ways when it hosts Arkansas State on Saturday, Dec. 22. The squads will square off at 2 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after a 71-59 setback to No. 14/15 Buffalo on Tuesday. Redshirt junior Elijah Hughes led the Orange with 16 points. He is now averaging 14.5 points per game, which rank tied for second on the team and tied for 17th in the ACC. Sophomore Oshae Brissett posted his third double-double of the year with 10 points and 12 rebounds against the Bulls.

SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES
Arkansas State comes into Saturday's game on a two-game winning streak, which has improved its record to 5-6.

Senior guard Ty Cockfield leads the Red Wolves' offense, averaging 21.3 points per game. He also has dished out a team-best 34 assists and recorded 13 steals. Sophomore Marquis Eaton also averages double figures in scoring (10.2 ppg.).

Head coach Mark Balado is in his second year at the helm of the Arkansas State program. He took over the Red Wolves' program after spending 15 seasons as an assistant coach, the last four at Louisville.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Arkansas State will meet for the first time on Saturday. The Red Wolves have played in the Carrier Dome before as a participant in the 1989 Carrier Classic where they faced Temple and VCU.

UP NEXT
The Orange will have a week off for the Christmas break before returning to action on Saturday, Dec. 29 against St. Bonaventure at 2 p.m. in their final non-conference game of the season.
