
Buchanan, Miller Earn All-Region Honors

KANSAS CITY – Syracuse sophomore Tajon Buchanan and senior Kamal Miller have been selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team. Buchanan earned second-team honors, while Miller was voted to the third team. It's the first all-region accolades for both players.

Buchanan had a breakout season in 2018. He led the Orange in points (20) and goals (8) and ranked fourth in assists (4) with career highs in each category. The first-team All-ACC honoree ranked fourth in the conference in points per game (1.33), fifth in goals per game (0.53) and tied for seventh in goals. Buchanan recorded multiple goals three times in 2018, including a career-high three against St. Bonaventure. He is the first member of the Orange to reach 20 points in a season since Ben Polk had 28 points in 2015.

Miller was a four-year starter on defense. He started all 17 matches in which he played this season and helped Syracuse record five shutouts, including a 2-0 win against No. 1 Wake Forest. He recorded an assist at No. 11 Louisville, increasing his career point total to 17.

The Orange finished the season with a 7-7-4 record and earned the No. 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse had a first-round bye before losing to national semifinalist Akron in the second round.
