Track Heads to Boston and Iowa State

The Syracuse track and field teams continue their 2018 schedule by heading back to Boston this weekend to compete at the Valentine Invitational, while others will head to Iowa State to race in the Iowa State classic.
After setting the bar high with eight personal bests last weekend in Boston at the Harvard Crimson Elite and Justyn Knight posting the nation's fastest 3000-meter run time, the standard will be tough to top for the Orange.

- Justyn Knight headlined the Millrose Games, taking second in the 3000-meter run in front of a national audience on NBC. Knight was the only collegian in the 12-man field.
- Angelo Goss (7.77 seconds) finished second overall to be the top collegian in the 60-meter hurdles event. Richard Floyd finished fourth (7.93 seconds), while David Gilstrap (7.95) was right behind in fifth. Kelvin Almonte (8.04) took seventh. Almonte's mark was a personal best. Danielle Delgado (8.44 seconds) finished second on the women's side. Â
- Dasia Pressley's victory in the 60-meter dash finals earned her a personal best with a time of 7.53 seconds. Imani Clark finished second overall with a time of 7.58 seconds, picking up a personal best as well.
- Aviana Goode recorded a personal best, leaping to 5.81 meters in women's long jump. Randall Johnson marked third best amongst collegians with his 6.83-meter leap to a fifth-place finish in men's long jump.
- Chris Tucker's time of 6.87 seconds and Chuka Soronnadi's mark of 6.91 seconds in the men's 60-meter dash were personal bests.
- Jalen Racine recorded a personal record time of 51 seconds to finish fourth in the 400-meters.
- Syracuse moved up six spots and checks in at No.19 in this week's USTFCCCA Men's Poll.
- It's the 20th straight poll in which the Orange have been ranked inside the top-25, a stretch that spans two years this week.
- In this week's mid-indoor Bowerman Award Watch List release, Justyn Knight was tabbed as one-of-six runners to make the list for the second time this season.
- Six holdovers from the previous list and four newcomers highlight the 10-man list.
- Justyn Knight and Iliass Aouani will compete in the invite division of the 5k at the Iowa State classic. They'll be joined in the event by Philo Germano. Paige Stoner will take to the track for the women in her first 5k of the season, also in the invite.
- Aidan Tooker will compete in the men's 3000-meter run.
- Paige Stoner will compete in the women's 5000-meter run, while Illiass Aouani, Philo Germano and Justyn Knight are set to race on the men's side.
- Dasia Pressley, Kadejhia Sellers and Cheyenne Trigg will race in the 200 meters, before Sellers and Trigg also race in the 400. In that event, they'll be joined by Alexis Harper.
- Sam Somera will be the lone member of the Orange to take on the 800-meters.
- As always, the mile will be a focal point on Boston's track. Rachel Bonner, Sydney Leiher, Kayli Jones, Kelsey Potts and Olivia Elston are set to race for the women. Noah Affolder, Nathan Henderson and Andy Paladino will compete for the Syracuse men.
- Moving up to 3000-meters, Madeleine Davison is entered in the event for the women, where as Dominic Hockenbury, Joe Dragon, Kevin James, Simon Smith and Jared Lautenslager will take to the track for the men.
- The only member of the Orange racing in the 60-meter hurdles this week will be Danielle Delgado.
- Closing the meet with relays, Delgado, Harper, Tia Thevenin and Sellers will compete in the 4x400 on the heels of their school record in the event last week.
