The 'Cuse senior earned the honor for the third time this season
Justyn Knight is once again recognized as one of the sport's elite athletes, making The Bowerman Watch List for the third-straight watch list reveal.
The Bowerman is the presented annually to the top male and female collegiate track and field athlete, and the 'Cuse senior is one of ten top athletes recognized on the watch list. The award is considered the highest individual honor in collegiate track and field.
Knight enters the NCAA Championships – where he'll compete in the 3000-meters and 5000-meters – coming off winning meet MVP honors at the ACC Track and Field Championships, for winning both of those events at the meet. Knight now has 10 ACC individual titles and five ACC team championships between cross country and track in his collegiate career.
He has one of the nation's four-fastest times in three different events (mile, 3000-meters, 5000-meters) heading into next week's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas.
Joining Knight again on the watch list since the start of the season are Florida's Grant Holloway, Josh Kerr of New Mexico, and South Dakota's Chris Nilsen. New mentions since the preseason are Auburn's Akeem Bloomfield, Trey Culver and Divine Oduduru of Texas Tech, Texas A&M's John Kyriazis, Southern California's Michael Norman, and UTEP's Michael Saruni.
Majoring in sociology, Knight is once again the only distance runner on the list and became the program's first NCAA Champion in cross country as an individual.
