DETROIT – 11^th-seeded Syracuse (21-13) meets sixth-seeded TCU (21-11) Friday night at 9:40 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The winner will advance to play the winner of third-seeded Michigan State and 14^th-seeded Bucknell on Sunday in the second round.

The game will be televised on CBS. Fans can also listen to the game on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network.

For Starters
- Syracuse's 39th appearance in the NCAA Tournament was extended with a 60-56 victory against Arizona State in the NCAA First Four on Mar. 14.

- Freshman Oshae Brissett produced his 13^th double-double on the year, with 23 points and 12 rebounds, to lead the Orange. Sophomore Tyus Battle added 15 points and junior Frank Howard scored 12.

- Battle, Howard, and Brissett rank first, second and sixth in minutes-played average among Division I players.

- Head coach Jim Boeheim, in his 42nd season as head coach at his alma mater, ranks second in Division I wins.

- The Orange hold a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series over TCU. This is the first matchup between the two schools since 2005.

Scouting the Horned Frogs
- TCU has split its last 10 games and enters the matchup on a two-game losing streak.

- Five different Horned Frogs average double-figure scoring. Vladimir Brodziansky leads the way with 15.1 points per contest and he's followed by Kenrich Williams (13.1 ppg.), Desmond Bane (12.8 ppg.), Jaylen Fisher (12.3 ppg.) and Kouat Noi (10.3 ppg.). Alex Robinson leads TCU with 182 assists and Williams grabs a team-high 9.3 boards per game.

- The Horned Frogs are coached by former Pitt mentor Jamie Dixon. He is 45-26 in two years at his alma mater.
