Syracuse tennis earns a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Orange are dancing! For the second time in three years, the Syracuse tennis team is headed to the NCAA Tournament. 'Cuse will square-off with Wichita State on Friday, May 11 in Oxford, Mississippi. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools in program history.
The winner of the match will advance to the second round of the tournament and face the winner of Ole Miss/Missouri State. The winner of each site advances to the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where the 16 teams will compete for the national championship May 17-22.
The Orange are coming off a quarterfinal appearance at the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, where they fell to No. 4 Georgia Tech 4-2. Prior to the quarterfinals, Syracuse defeated Pittsburgh 4-1 for just their second ACC Tournament victory in program history.
