Pierce, Conway Named Preseason All-ACC by Lindy's

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Praise for members of the Syracuse football team continues to be offered by national college football preview magazines, as a pair of Orange standouts have been named to Lindy's Preseason All-ACC teams.

Senior offensive tackle Cody Conway and senior tight end Ravian Pierce each earned third-team recognition from the publication.

The preseason all-conference teams are included in Lindy's 2018 college football preview issue, which is available in stores and at newsstands now.

Conway, who last month was named to Athlon's Preseason All-ACC Third Team, has started 20 straight games at left tackle. He played 1,030 snaps in 2017 and logged 31 knockdown blocks to help the Orange rank third in the ACC in total offense (456.3 ypg) and second in passing (294.8 ypg).

The Lindy's honor is the second of the preseason for Pierce, as well. A preseason all-conference second-team choice by Athlon, Pierce caught 29 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns in 2017, including a two-touchdown performance versus Wake Forest. His 29 receptions were the most for a Syracuse tight end since 2012.

Conway, Pierce and the rest of the Orange kick off the 2018 campaign at Western Michigan on Friday, Aug. 31 before opening their home schedule Saturday, Sept. 8 versus Wagner.
