'Cuse Ice Welcomes Lauren Bellefontaine

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – One of four forwards in the incoming freshman class, Lauren Bellefontaine brings PWHL experience to the 2018-19 Orange roster. The freshman played two seasons for the Nepean Jr. Wildcats alongside fellow freshmen Shelby Calof and Abby Moloughney.
Bellefontaine, a native of Kemptville, Ontario, served as an alternate captain for the Jr. Wildcats during the 2017-18 season. She tallied 15 points (six goals, nine assists) as a forward in her final year with Nepean, helping her team to an 18-15-4 record.
The freshman represented Ottawa as part of Team Ontario Red at the Canadian U18 Nationals, playing her way to a gold medal.
"I chose Syracuse University because it is a great school and I fell in love with the campus the first time I visited," said Bellefontaine. "The atmosphere is contagious and everything about the hockey program is amazing, especially the coaches. I can't wait for the journey ahead!"
Bellefontaine will wear number eight for the Orange in the upcoming season.
