6/11/2018 10:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Syracuse hosts Eastern Washington on Nov. 6 and Morehead State on Nov. 10, and will face Connecticut on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2018 2K Classic benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.
While the Orange and Huskies will meet one of the semifinals in New York City, Iowa and Oregon will face off in the other matchup. The championship and consolation games will be played on Nov. 16 at MSG. Game times will be announced at a later date.
Syracuse will be making its sixth appearance in the 2K Classic, the most of any program. The Orange are 14-3 overall in the event and captured 2K Classic titles in 2004 and 2009.
Eastern Washington is making its first appearance on the Syracuse schedule. The Eagles were 20-15 and played in the College Basketball Invitational a year ago. Shantay Legans enters his second season as Eastern Washington's head coach.
Syracuse has won both meetings with Morehead State, the most recent a 110-69 victory during the 1987-88 campaign. The Eagles were 8-21 a year ago in Preston Spradlin's first season as full-time head coach.
Syracuse was 23-14 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 before a loss to Duke ended its 2017-18 campaign.
Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, is preparing for his 43rd season as Syracuse head coach. The Orange return all five starters, including Tyus Battle, who led the team in scoring (19.2 ppg.) as a sophomore.
Syracuse season tickets start at $250 and are available for sale on-line (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (1-888-DOMETIX)Â and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
